| | ExxonMobil Chemical Presents an Educational Webinar: Vistamaxx Specialty Elastomers for Polymer Innovation
| HOUSTON(June 17, 2009) -- ExxonMobil Chemical will present an educational webinar, Vistamaxx™ Specialty Elastomers for Polymer Modification and Compounding, on 18 June, 2009 at 2.00pm (EST). The webinar will discuss how Vistamaxx specialty elastomers are being used for a new range of possibilities in polymer modification and compounding by expanding the polyolefin performance window.
"Vistamaxx specialty elastomers are playing an important role in offering compounders and OEMs the ability to add value by improving durability, aesthetics, flexibility, and versatility when used as a blend partner with polypropylene (PP) and other polymers," said Simon Holmes, global marketing manager, specialty elastomers, ExxonMobil Chemical. "A webinar is a perfect way to effectively communicate the benefits of Vistamaxx elastomers to customers around the world."
The presentation will cover the use of Vistamaxx elastomers for the numerous applications that incorporate PP modification, SEBS modification and use with oil and fillers. There will also be a comparison between Vistamaxx elastomers and plastomers.
Used as a minor blend partner to produce rigid thermoplastic olefins (TPOs), soft thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs), transparent compounds or polymer blends, Vistamaxx specialty elastomers are enabling compounders and dry blending converters to easily fine-tune properties to develop innovative, new polymer solutions.

This webinar follows the success of ExxonMobil Chemical's webinar, Inter-material Bonding with Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs). The webinar discussed the importance of inter-material bonding with TPEs, which is becoming an increasingly important driver in the development of consumer, industrial and automotive products. The presentation, which can be downloaded from the ides.com website, covers bonding theory, testing, performance and processing tips for TPEs that bond to EPDM, metal and engineering thermoplastic (ETP) substrates.
ExxonMobil Chemical is planning additional webinars on 17 September, 2009 and 15 October, 2009. Interested participants can register for webinar alerts at: www.ides.com/webinars.
