| EXXON Chlorobutyl is an elastomeric isobutylene-isoprene copolymer (halogenated butyl) containing reactive chlorine. As EXXON Chlorobutyl has the predominantly saturated backbone of butyl, it has many of the attributes of the butyl molecule:
- Low permeability to air, gases and moisture
- Vibration damping
- Low glass transition temperature
- Resistance to aging and to weathering from atmospheric exposure
- Wide vulcanization versatility
- Fast cure rates
- Processing safety: no nitrosamines or nitrosamines precursors
