Polymer Modification Applications

The unique attributes of Exact plastomers bring value to a range of extruded and molded products.  They exhibit outstanding toughness, low temperature flexibility and ductility, and chemical and thermal stability. As polymer modifiers, they impart these attributes in their host polymers.

Automotive

Car
Ductility of -30ºC or below in polypropylene-based automotive thermoplastic olefin (TPO) compounds.

Improved paintability of TPOs.

Functionalized plastomers improve the impact strength of engineered polymers such as nylon used in automotive parts.

Rigid Packaging

Bottles
Improved drop resistance of blow-molded PP bottles, while maintaining clarity.

Enhanced stress-crack resistance of high density polyethylene (HDPE) bottles used for household and industrial chemicals.



Consumer Products

Packing
Improved tear-resistance and compression set of EVA crosslinked foam for shoe soles.

Increased impact-resistance of sports equipment such as kayaks rotomolded from HDPE.




Wire and Cable

Improved tensile strength and elongation of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) compounds used for wire and cable.





Sheeting

Increased flexibility of PP impact copolymers for roofsheeting and geomembranes.
